Dr. Erin Nance describes the immune system as a “complex network of physical, hormonal, and chemical defense mechanisms.”
“The primary lymph organs, the thymus and bone marrow, are responsible for generating white blood cells,” Nance said.
According to Nance, one of the great features of our immune system’s design is its built-in redundancy.
“There are multiple places where the white blood cells are produced, stored, matured, and activated,” she said.
